The Amperseason of Giving, Sharing & Friendship

The GS&F acronym took on a whole new meaning this holiday season. To celebrate our 40th anniversary in Nashville, we challenged ourselves to think bigger than just cake and balloons. Enter our Giving, Sharing & Friendship campaign
What better way to honor our agency than by bringing the 120 Friends who make it possible together to create something bigger than ourselves? Spearheaded by GS&F Group Creative Director Jason Skinner, we launched the Giving, Sharing & Friendship campaign during the 2018 holiday season. Each month we teamed up with a nonprofit close to our hearts, ‘giving’ back to our community, ‘sharing’ our experiences, and creating some new ‘friendships’ along the way.

October: Oasis Center

We kicked off the Giving, Sharing & Friendship campaign during the Halloween season. Partnering with the Oasis Center, an organization devoted to fostering positive development for Nashville youth in need, we got a little spooky by creating glow-in-the-dark t-shirts that kept kids safe, visible and lookin’ cool while trick-or-treating. To keep the Halloween spirit going, we handed out ampersand M&Ms in branded treat bags to 75 underprivileged youth during a special trick-or-treating excursion at our building.

November: Second Harvest Food Bank

Heading into Thanksgiving, we hosted a friendly food drive competition here at GS&F to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee to provide much-needed items for those in need. We challenged each GS&F’er to bring in 40 ounces of cans to celebrate our 40 years. By the end of the drive, we quadrupled our goal—donating a total of 22,040 ounces of cans and contributing a portion of 8,000 meals. As a bonus, we gave employees a very fashionable, very sustainable GS&F tote bag to externalize our brand in a fresh way.

December: Nashville Rescue Mission

Temperatures in Nashville get unpredictably cold throughout the winter season, and proper clothing means everything. We wrapped up our Giving, Sharing & Friendship campaign with a coat drive to benefit the Nashville Rescue Mission. By the end, we donated more than 75 pieces of clothing to help keep our community warm. As a special thanks, everyone who donated received GS&F-branded socks and hats to keep their heads, bodies and hearts warm while getting our ampersand logo out.

Nashville, we thank you for 40 years and here’s to 40 more of Giving, Sharing & Friendship.
