The Nashville Predators have certainly made a name for themselves since they entered the NHL in 1998. Having built up a loyal fan base that brings the energy every game at Bridgestone Arena, their home ice, this is an eager team that is just a few years removed from a Stanley Cup Finals appearance. So, it is no surprise that they are primed to bring the excitement to Smashville once again this season.
A New Season
While the traditions and fandom will remain the same, the 2021–22 team will look a little different as new players suit up for the Preds. That said, when our longtime partner came to us looking for a campaign to not only continue to drive ticket sales but also get fans (and soon-to-be fans) pumped about the future, we dove right in.
Creating an emotionally charged connection with our audiences while ensuring we built a media strategy that created anticipation and a feeling of FOMO was critical. Given the nearly endless entertainment options in Nashville, capturing the fringe audience while keeping our die-hard fans fired up was the primary focus.
Bringing the Vision to Life
Our strategy and creative teams worked together to develop a campaign that would deliver on the objective at hand. Through the human insight that every day feels like a celebration when you’re excited about the future, we landed on the concept of “Paint the Town Preds.” This was a call to take control. To celebrate every night to the max. To know that the future in Smashville is bright.
Activating Across Channels
Our media team collaborated closely with our strategy and creative teams to ensure the campaign came to life in a way that gave our audiences a reason to act. This started with a teaser campaign across OOH, social, radio and print. We then moved to a harder hitting message through broadcast TV, connected TV, streaming audio, radio, social and digital channels.
Enjoying the Ride
While we all hope for a championship run this season, it’s safe to say the energy and excitement has permeated the city. It will no doubt be fun to be a part of this team’s journey.
